Currie Technologies e-Zip E750 Electric Scooter Review

It seems that kids can’t get to new forms of transportation fast enough. Heck, my 12-year-old son asked me just 2 years ago if I would get him a motorcycle when he turned 12. Like any responsible, cool-headed father I said, “Are you nuts?”, at which point he kept asking and in a moment of weakness I promised to get him a motorized scooter when he turned 12.

Well, those three years went by quickly, and I forgot all about that promise, but not my son. It seems he has the memory of an elephant. I had to make good on my promise, so I started doing some research on motorized scooters and ended up purchasing the Currie Technologies e-Zip E750 Electric Scooter.

The Currie Technologies e-Zip E750 Electric Scooter is a slick little scooter. It gets to top speeds of about 15 mph, which is fast enough to make my son feel like a big-shot, but safe enough to keep his mother from getting too worried when he goes out for a ride. Of course, I have to make sure that he wears his helmet and safety gear when he rides the scooter, and he’s only allowed to ride it in certain areas that are safe for these kinds of vehicles.

When I decided to put together a review, I decided to ask my son what he liked best about it, and figured I would throw in my two cents where they were needed. So here are the points he says that he likes best about the Currie Technologies e-Zip E750 Electric Scooter.

  • The way it looks. I had to ask him to elaborate, but it boils down to the metallic, almost chrome-like look of the scooter. Hey, us guys are always crazy about the looks of our rides, and I do have to admit that the Currie Technologies e-Zip E750 Electric Scooter is a pretty cool looking scooter.
  • How solid it is built. My son said that his friend has a scooter that is, “all wobbly and stuff”, but that he is very sturdy and solid. Okay, it’s confession time. I am not a small guy. I weigh over 200 pounds, but I took the scooter out one day when my son was at school and he is right, the Currie Technologies e-Zip E750 Electric Scooter is very solid and even made me feel secure riding it.
  • How easy it is to recharge. This is a no-brainer. Kids have so much stuff that has to charge up these days, that they expect products that charge fast. While this scooter can take hours to charge, it does give plenty of riding time once it is fully charged.

The Currie Technologies e-Zip E750 Electric Scooter was a good buy as far as I’m concerned and judging from the feedback of my son, I’d say he agrees. It was a bit of a challenge to put together, but most things are for me. The directions that came with the scooter explained everything, but it’s definitely smart to take your time if you plan to put one of these together for yourself.

Other than a challenging assembly, the Currie Technologies e-Zip E750 Electric Scooter has been one of the smartest gift purchases I’ve ever made. The next challenge will be a car when my son turns 16, but until then, he’s content with his Currie Technologies e-Zip E750 Electric Scooter. Recommended!
